Dr. Ali Said Faqi is a highly accomplished individual with a diverse background in science, diplomacy, and politics. With a PhD in toxicology from the University of Leipzig, Germany, and a Diploma of Socialization in Experimental Pharmacology from the University of Studi di Milano, Italy, Dr. Faqi has a strong academic foundation in toxicology. As a board-certified toxicologist and fellow of the American Academy of Toxicological Sciences, his contributions to the field of toxicology have garnered widespread recognition. His role as an editor of an influential toxicology book further amplifies Dr. Faqi's expertise in this area, solidifying his reputation as a leading authority in the field. In addition to his scientific pursuits, Dr. Faqi has also made significant contributions in the realm of diplomacy. He served as the Ambassador of Somalia to Benelux and the European Union from 2013 to August 2021, where he effectively represented his country's interests and fostered diplomatic relations with key stakeholders. During his tenure, he played a crucial role in strengthening ties between Somalia and the EU. Dr. Faqi's passion for public service led him to transition into the realm of politics. He became a Speaker of the Southwest State of Somalia and currently serves as a federal Member of Parliament.
